Install and sign in

Silico runs in the desktop app, so getting access should take only a few minutes. You do not need to install a CLI, provision a GPU, or configure a development environment before asking your first research question.

Before you begin

You need an authorized GitHub account and access to a Lab. A Lab is your team's Silico deployment; it holds organizations, research, settings, and compute connections.

If a teammate is inviting you, sign in to that Lab once so your account is available under Organization settings → Members. Use the GitHub identity you expect to keep using for Silico.

Install the desktop app

Download Silico, open the installer, and move it to Applications.

Launch Silico and choose Continue with GitHub. Complete authentication in your browser, then return to the app. The browser step establishes identity; your research remains in the Lab you open next.

Open your Silico Lab

Under Connections, select your Lab and choose Open. If you do not see it yet, choose Add connection and select the Lab available to your account.

Silico stores your identity in the operating system keychain, so you should not need to authenticate every time the app opens.

If a Lab is missing, first confirm that you used the invited GitHub account. Then ask an Admin or Owner to check the organization member list. The troubleshooting guide covers the full path.
