Members and roles

Membership determines who can use the organization and manage its settings.

Membership does not expose every thread. Share specific research with a thread link.

Roles

Silico has three organization roles:

Action Member Admin Owner
Use the organization and view its member list
View shared organization settings and usage
Invite members or admins
Change Member and Admin roles
Remove non-owner members
Change organization-level settings
Transfer organization ownership

Members use the organization. Admins can manage members and organization settings. The Owner can also transfer ownership. Billing and compute permissions may depend on deployment configuration.

Open the member list

Open Settings → Members under the organization.

All members can view the roster. Admins and Owners can invite, change roles, and remove members.

Invite someone

Enter an email, choose Member or Admin, and select Send invite.

The single-use link expires after seven days. The recipient should accept it with the GitHub account they intend to use for Silico; using a different account is a common reason a Lab later appears to be missing.

The role applies on acceptance. Transfer Owner only to an existing member.

Manage pending invitations

The Members page keeps the invitation history alongside the roster:

  • Pending invitations show the selected role and their remaining validity.
  • Resend sends a fresh link with a new seven-day window. The previous link stops working.
  • Revoke invalidates a pending link immediately.
  • Expired invitations can be resent.
  • Accepted invitations show which Silico account redeemed the link.

Revoke and resend any link that may have reached the wrong person.

Some deployments use directory search and can add only people who have signed in once.

Change a role

Use the role menu to switch between Member and Admin. This does not transfer their work.

The Owner row cannot be changed through the role menu.

Admin access permits management of shared settings and organization membership.

Transfer ownership

Only the current Owner can transfer ownership to an existing member.

Choose Make owner and confirm. The previous Owner becomes an Admin.

Remove a member

Owners and admins can remove a non-owner member from the roster. Silico asks for confirmation before applying the change.

Removal ends organization access and may start Lab offboarding. It does not transfer work, ownership of external repositories, or responsibility for service credentials. Before removing someone, preserve the reports, code, integrations, and operational knowledge the organization still needs.

The Owner cannot be removed. Transfer ownership first if the current Owner needs to leave the organization.
